Position Overview

International is seeking an Indirect Procurement Category Manager.

The Indirect Category Manager - Services will develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies, drive cost optimization, lead supplier negotiations, and execute legal agreements. This role involves developing and maintaining strong relationships with key suppliers, ensuring optimal supplier performance that meet or exceeds requirements. The category manager will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and drive early procurement involvement and compliance with procurement policies. The role plays an important part in coordinating global procurement strategies across our Traton and Volkswagen group of brands, leveraging global scale and best practices.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Sourcing: Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to meet business needs and organizational goals.
  • Cost Reduction: Identify and execute opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate and maintain supplier agreements. Secure favorable terms and conditions through effective contract negotiations.
  • Global Coordination: Align procurement strategies across different regions and business units within Traton and Volkswagen.
  • Innovation and Sustainability: Drive initiatives that promote innovation and sustainability within the procurement process.
  • Market Analysis: Research and benchmark market trends specific to your category to understand and effectively communicate cost drivers.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with Procurement policies and procedures.
  • Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to drive collaboration and continuous improvement to achieve high performance.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience

OR

  • Master's degree and at least 1 year of purchasing/procurement experience

OR

  • At least 5 years of purchasing/procurement experience
