Full Job Description
This Indirect Category Manager is responsible for executing strategic purchasing strategies to support the successful delivery of indirect goods and services for all Bioventus locations.
Key Responsibilities:
37Responsibilities include strategy development and adoption, requirements definition, cost negotiation, vendor selection, contractual review and effective relationship building with external suppliers and internal business partners.
37Execute and support all purchasing policies and procedures. Meet routinely with internal business partners to maintain best in class purchasing category strategies that drive performance with regard to cost, quality & delivery.
37Maintain a deep and current knowledge of assigned purchasing categories. In cooperation with internal business partners, develop and maintain supplier key performance indicators.
37Lead a standardized sourcing, supplier approval and contracting process across assigned categories negotiating the most favorable terms and conditions based on total cost of ownership.
37Serve as a company contact for all procurement related questions on policy, process, training and support. Proactively and effectively address and resolve issues as they are presented.
37Holds oneself and others accountable to conduct business in a manner compliant with Bioventus' Code of Compliance and Ethics, policies and procedures and internal controls applicable to their role.
37Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
37Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, Operations, or a related field
37Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or category management, with a focus on indirect spend
37Experience developing and executing category strategies aligned to business objectives
37Experience managing IT-related spend categories, a plus
37Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and leading contract negotiations
37Proven ability to support cross-functional stakeholders and influence decision-making without direct authority
37Strong analytical experience, including spend analysis, cost savings identification, and business case development
37Experience leading sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, and negotiations)
37Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
37Experience working with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba, Coupa) preferred
