Full Job Description
Boart Longyear is seeking a Senior Tax Analyst to join its Corporate Tax Department. This position will play a key role in supporting the company's U.S. tax compliance and reporting functions, including income tax returns, tax provisions, tax planning, and tax research initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated tax professional with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple projects in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation and review of U.S. federal, state, and local income tax returns.
  • Prepare federal and state income tax extensions, estimated tax calculations, and related payments.
  • Support the preparation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including current and deferred tax calculations, return-to-provision adjustments, and related account reconciliations.
  • Research and analyze tax issues and provide support for positions taken on tax returns and special projects.
  • Ensure tax activities comply with corporate policies, procedures, and applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Assist with identifying, documenting, and recording tax reserves.
  • Assist with federal, state, and local tax notices, audits, and information requests.
  • Analyze complex tax data, assess risks and alternatives, and communicate recommendations effectively.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external advisors on tax-related matters.
  • Participate in tax planning initiatives and process improvement projects.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional tax experience in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.
  • Solid understanding of corporate income tax concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Experience performing tax research and technical analysis.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
