Job purpose

The Import Procurement Manager is responsible for leading the end-to-end procurement, demand planning, inventory management, and supplier performance functions for a global product portfolio. This role ensures the company maintains optimal inventory levels while balancing customer demand, supplier capacity, transportation timelines, and company profitability.

Duties and responsibilities
  • Lead demand planning and procurement activities for domestic and international suppliers.
  • Develop purchasing strategies that optimize inventory investment while maintaining high customer service levels.
  • Review forecasts, purchase orders, and replenishment plans to ensure appropriate inventory flow and safety stock.
  • Manage inventory across multiple distribution centers while minimizing excess inventory and stock-outs.
  • Analyze demand trends and adjust procurement plans accordingly.
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships with overseas and domestic suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance including production capacity, manufacturing schedules, lead times, on-time shipping performance, and quality metrics.
  • Identify supply chain risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
  • Lead forecasting activities utilizing historical sales, market trends, seasonality, and business initiatives.
  • Support product lifecycle management from product launch through end-of-life.
  • All other duties as assigned.
