Full Job Description
THE ROLE
As an IM/IT Senior Business Analyst, you will lead the development of information management and information technology (IM/IT) solutions across desktop, client/server applications, databases, networking, storage, and communications. You will document business objectives, user requirements, technical specifications, and statements of work, while researching and evaluating business and technical needs to support the execution of enterprise technology roadmaps.
You will also perform data analysis to uncover insights that inform decision-making and support strategic initiatives. This includes designing and building Power BI reports and dashboards that present complex data in a clear, actionable format for stakeholders across the organization.
The IM/IT Senior Business Analyst prepares feasibility studies, business cases, and cost-benefit analyses, and provides recommendations on build-versus-buy options. You will collaborate with colleagues to develop system designs and project plans, functional and technical specifications, and testing plans. You will assess the usability of solutions prior to development and redesign business processes when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED
Education, Certifications and Licenses
College diploma or certificate in Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or a related field
Experience
In business analysis, including requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and process optimization
In data analysis, with the ability to interpret complex datasets and derive actionable insights
In report creation, including the development of interactive dashboards using Power BI
In software development environments, with an understanding of application lifecycle and delivery
In scope and change management, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs
In technical documentation, such as functional specifications, data flow diagrams, and metadata catalogs
In creating technical presentations for diverse audiences, including executives and technical teams
In application integration and delivery challenges, especially involving legacy systems and modern platforms
In a similar IM/IT environment, particularly one focused on data governance, platform modernization, and analytics enablement (considered an asset)
Competencies

OTHER INFORMATION
This is a hybrid position with an assigned work location allowing the employee to work partly from a corporate office and partly from a home office in accordance with the CFMWS Flexible Work Options Policy, and with approval from the direct manager.
This position is a two-year term.
