Full Job Description
Position Title: ICU Manager

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Compensation: $104,000-$125,000
The estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position. Final offers are based on various factors, including skill set, experience, location, qualifications and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles

Position Purpose: To manage the day-to-day operations of the unit, including scheduling, staffing and oversight of clinical functions to assure the delivery of quality patient care
Essential Functions (list in order of importance including measures):
  1. Efficiently uses internal and external resources to ensure appropriate staffing of unit based on accepted standards of care. In outpatient settings, develops and coordinates clinical program schedule and goals and may provide direct patient care.
  2. Manages unit personnel by hiring quality staff to meet the needs of patients and their families, provides ongoing supervision and direction to the staff, and evaluates staff performance including recommendations for personnel actions.
  3. Participates in the development of and holds staff accountable for hospital, nursing and unit policies, procedures, objectives, competencies, performance improvement initiatives as well as safety, environmental and infection control standards.
  4. Maintains departmental records and reports and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.
  5. Maintains knowledge base in the specific clinical area and promotes professional staff development.
  6. Assists in the development of unit operating and capital budgets. Maintains unit budget and productivity within appropriate parameters.

  • Performs both essential and marginal job functions in a safe manner as identified by Saint Anthony Hospital and the respective department while adhering to the Hospital's confidentiality norms and standards. Actively and consistently demonstrates the core values of Saint Anthony Hospital in all interactions with others.
  • Attends administrative meetings and actively participates on hospital and nursing committees.
  • Coordinates and chars unit staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned after demonstrating required comptencies or completing requisite training.

  • BS in nursing or MS preferred.
  • Charge nurse experience with previous managerial experience preferred.
  • Two or more years clinical experience or equivalent.
  • Able to mentor staff in performance of their job roles.
  • Good conflict management and communication skills.
