Full Job Description
EthosEnergy is seeking an Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical Technician (IC&E) to join our dynamic team at the Potomac Plant Energy Center, a 685 MW 2x1 combined-cycle gas turbine facility in Leesburg, Virginia. There are two Siemens SGT6-500F CTGs and one Siemens SSTS 5000 ST. This is your opportunity to take ownership in a critical IC&E role on a day shift schedule and make an impact where reliability and innovation meet. Qualified applicants must have 10+ years as an IC&E Technician in a power plant or similar environment as well as QEW certified (or documented training). HV qualified or able to certify within 6 months is also a requirement.

Job Responsibilities

  • Conducts all work activities in a professional, environmentally conscious, and safe manner.
  • Assures operational efficiency, unit reliability and compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Maintains and executes tactical processes in a team oriented, multi-disciplined environment.
  • This position involves overtime, callouts, outage work, weekend, on call and holiday work schedule is 10 hour Day shifts.
  • Self-directed and capable of working alone unless required for job specific tasks.
Required Skills / Knowledge

  • Expert Trouble shooter for instrumentation, controls and electrical equipment in high pressure situations
  • Capable of reading electrical drawings
  • Digital Valve controller calibration, set up and troubleshooting
  • Process transmitter Calibration and installation
  • CEMS subject matter Expert (combustion Emission Monitoring system)
  • Ovation, T3000, Mark VI, Allen Bradley, controls system expert
  • Skilled in reading and building Logic in DCS
  • Manage Contractors
  • Racking in and out 4160 breakers
  • Remote racking 4160 breakers
  • 480 Breaker trouble shooting
  • Familiar with Variable Speed Drives
  • Subject matter Expert for Protective Relay and trouble shooting
  • Subject Matter Expert for NERC related Testing
  • Voltage Regulator Subject Mater Expert
  • Megger testing motors
  • Grounding motors
Experience

  • Electrical Maintenance- Experience in troubleshooting and correcting and troubleshooting IC & E problems
  • 10 years' experience at a Power Plant or equivalent in the capacity of an IC&E technician.
Education Requirements

  • Associate's degree (AA) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical High School Graduate
  • Certification- QEW training and documentation
  • HV qualified or after training in 6 months
Physical Requirements

  • Lifting to 50 pounds, walking, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, and pulling
