This new ICBM systems engineer role will directly support the AFNWC Payloads Division Chief Engineer to help manage processes and tools in support of multiple payload programs designing, developing, producing, and deploying new payload system suites (reentry vehicles and/or countermeasures). The key payload attributes include enhancements in accuracy, lethality, and ICBM Reentry System/Reentry Vehicle (RS/RV) interoperable operations. Program activities will also include the employment of digital acquisitions through the application of digital engineering, agile software development, and open systems architectures.

BAE Systems is looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to assist the Payloads Chief Engineer with the establishment of applications and management of program interfaces for multiple ACAT programs advancing ICBM reentry capabilities.

Responsibilities include:
  • Provide technical advice to Government leaders and engineers.
  • Monitor requirements development, analysis of alternatives, verification and validation activities, and milestone preparation.
  • Prepare/review engineering analysis reports and review key acquisition documents.
  • Participate in technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program management reviews, certification working groups, and other technical meetings, as required.

Pursuant to Government contract, this position requires US Citizenship status. This position is only located at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, due to the special-access classified working environment and is not conducive to regular "telework" or remote schedules.

Required Skills and Education

BS/MS Engineering, Computer Science, Software, Mathematics, or Physics. 7 years (5 years with MS degree) of progressive experience in systems integration and analysis of military hardware and software systems/processes. 2 years experience leading system design, integration, and analytical efforts.

In this position, the successful candidate shall perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, the evaluation of alternatives including cost, risk, supportability and analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. In this role this individual shall ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions. The individual shall be responsible for the Translation of customer requirements into hardware/software specifications.

Must have experience with Cameo and PLM tools.

Must currently hold a Secret clearance and be eligible for TS.

Preferred Skills and Education

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in at least 3 of the following areas:
  • 3+ years as a Systems Engineer or 5+ years performing systems engineering tasks on a missile system or complex weapon system.
  • ACAT I program or ICBM-related experience.
  • Knowledge or previous experience with Air Force Operations and acquisition programs.
  • Previous analytical experience applied to integrated military weapon systems or multiple subsystems.

    Current Top Secret Clearance or higher highly desired.
