About the role

As a Ferric IC Product Engineer, you will gain exposure to the full product-life of Ferric's ICs by working with a diverse cross-functional team including IC designers, test & application engineers, assembly team, vendors, the fab, and our customers. Product Engineers spearhead our product engineering activities within the exciting field of power ICs. In this role, reporting to the VP Operations, you will work in a fast-paced environment to develop, characterize, qualify and production-release Ferric's power management IC's. We are seeking a dedicated hands-on engineer with extensive proven experience in product development, characterization, product qualification, package qualification, new product introduction to production, manufacturing sustaining, yield analysis, yield enhancement, and product failure analysis.

What you'll do

  • Work with IC design and test teams to create and review test plans, including providing recommendations for DFT & DFQ, test & debug visibility, etc
  • Work with manufacturing and process engineering team to develop, characterize new assembly processes
  • Characterization of products across PVT on ATE and bench
  • ATE to bench correlation and establishment of ATE production test limits
  • Disposition of Wafer sort and Final test
  • Design of reliability hardware
  • Support and execute product qualification
  • Yield enhancement
  • Support engineering team with NPI
  • Analysis of RMA Customer returns and root cause analysis
  • Bench-level testing, characterization, and debug of full ICs and IC sub-systems
  • Development and execution of Python scripts to automate the characterization and data acquisition of key DC-DC power-converter metrics

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in EE
  • Industry Experience: 3+ years and ATE experience preferably on 93K
  • Familiar with reliability, burn-in circuit design, data analysis, automation, cost reduction, and customer support
  • Detailed knowledge of semiconductor product life cycle from post silicon bring up, device characterization, device qualification, pre-production support, release to volume production and product sustenance
  • Strong data analytical skills in the evaluation and characterization of power semiconductors
  • Strong test development skills along with the ability to define hardware/software needs for debug
  • Yield analysis and circuit debug experience with 6-sigma quality practices is an asset
  • Experience working with a variety of technical projects that relate to product and test engineering, failure analysis, design, yield improvement
  • Demonstrated experience with hands-on product characterization methodologies (planning, understanding of measurement techniques and use of lab equipment)
  • Understanding of statistical analysis techniques (SPC, CPK, CPU, CPL, etc.)
  • Ability to write concise engineering reports • Strong knowledge of device physics
  • Familiarity with industry standard reliability testing and failure analysis
  • Electrical and Thermal characterization
  • Familiarity with wafer fabrication and packaging process
  • Experience in probe and final test operation
  • Experience with automating data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to perform moderately defined tasks relating to all phases of a product life cycle
  • Demonstrated ability to autonomously manage a myriad of demands and prioritize effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Maintains accountability for actions (ownership of work)

Preferred/Plus Skills and Experience

  • Education: Master's Degree in EE
  • PCB design, Python Programming
  • Software: Cadence Allegro, Xilinx ISE, and Linux & Windows operating systems
