About this Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an I&E Technologist to join the Diamond TXO Energy Maintenance team. The candidate will have primary responsibility for assets within Power 8/9, CRW, HPW, and associated utilities. This role will provide maintenance craft specific support in order to maintain and repair a variety of equipment types. The role participates on maintenance team which supports reliability improvement across all Operations facilities and requires full proficiency in a range of technical and operational processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on the job experience in order to perform a variety of work assignments.

Responsibilities
  • Enables the people who manage and/or perform work in the field with the tools and information needed to perform their job effectively and efficiently in terms of safety, reliability, quality, and cost
  • Provides technical expertise to plant personnel on troubleshooting failures, repairs, and evaluating whether equipment is designed to meet its intended or existing service conditions
  • Accountable for critical work in assigned areas of responsibility. For critical equipment, ensure that work requests include engineering input on repair details such as clearances, tolerances, materials of construction, welding procedures, etc., and if necessary, provide onsite/offsite technical support for deviations from this data
  • Modifies and/or develops quality maintenance repair/PPM procedures, checklists, and QC plans
  • Modifies and/or develops spare parts lists in SAP.
  • Provides technical expertise in developing job scopes for turnarounds, pit stops, and daily maintenance work
  • Serves as a maintenance focal point for identified jobs in turnarounds, pit stops, and daily maintenance work
  • Follows jobs at External and Internal Shops and ensure that steps in QC plans are being executed and signed off
  • Evaluates condition-based monitoring activities (Vibrations, Oil Sampling Analysis, etc.) and determines appropriate action
  • Participates on Rework team to identify top opportunities, create an equipment improvement plan, and properly escalate the need for funding/budget for the repair/improvements
  • Obtains quotes from 3rd Party Suppliers for repair work that will be needed
  • Enters QSPPs (positive and negative) as needed for our 3rd Party Suppliers
  • Participates in root cause investigations (informal and formal) by providing expertise on failures and repair techniques during the investigations


Qualifications
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 5 years of instrument/electrical experience in an industrial setting is required
  • Working knowledge of process instrumentation, motors, electrical circuits, and electrical distribution is required
  • Must be willing to work weekends, and holidays, if required
  • Must be willing to work overtime (extra hours beyond your regular scheduled) if required
  • Must have a current, valid US driver's license.
  • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process


Preferred Qualifications
  • An Associate degree in Electrical or Instrumentation OR 3+ years of military experience with Instrument or Electrical experience
  • Experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of reciprocating electrical and instrumentation systems is preferred
  • NCCER Certification is preferred

  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time

Skills
  • Instrumentation & Electrical Systems Expertise: Strong working knowledge of process instrumentation, motors, electrical circuits, and distribution systems to support plant equipment reliability and performance
  • Troubleshooting & Failure Analysis: Ability to diagnose equipment failures, lead root cause investigations, and provide technical solutions for repairs and long-term reliability improvements
  • Maintenance & Reliability Planning: Experience developing maintenance procedures, PPM plans, spare parts strategies, and job scopes for turnarounds and daily maintenance activities
  • Condition Monitoring & Diagnostics: Skilled in evaluating condition-based monitoring data (e.g., vibration, oil analysis) and using diagnostic tools to determine appropriate maintenance actions
  • SAP & Maintenance Systems: Proficiency in managing spare parts, work processes, and maintenance data within SAP or similar systems to support efficient execution and tracking
