What role you will play in our team

  • I&E Technician Position in the Bakken Oilfield, North Dakota
  • The I&E Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and electrical systems in oil and gas facilities. This role ensures safe and efficient operations by supporting the reliability of critical equipment, including control systems, field instrumentation, and electrical infrastructure.


What you will do

The I&E Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical and instrumentation systems critical to oil and gas operations. This includes ensuring the reliability and safety of control systems, field devices, and electrical infrastructure through routine inspections, calibrations, and emergency response.

About you

Skills and Qualifications

  • Ability to maintain and troubleshoot transmitters, valvues, switches, sensors
  • Calibrate and test safety systems, including ESDs and fire/gas detection systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLCs, RTUs, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, and field instrumentation (pressure, temperature, flow, and level transmitters).
  • Knowledge and ability to safely work on control circuits in enclosures with other AC/DC circuits.
  • Ability to coordinate, communicate and work with employees from other contract companies, crafts, and or other departments to meet a common goal.
  • This is an extremely "hands-on" position requiring outdoor field work that also requires being part of a rotation with others to support the field on an after-hours, on-call basis.


Preferred Qualifications/ Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree in instrumentation, electrical technology, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial I&E maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
