Job Description

The Department of Neurosurgery at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine is seeking an Open Rank faculty position within our multidisciplinary Cerebral Spinal Fluid Disorder Center. We welcome a dedicated and innovative clinician to join our collaborative team of physiatrists, neurosurgeons and physical therapists committed to advancing the diagnosis and treatment of CSF disorders. Work in a state-of-the-art academic medical center with CSF disorder research and treatment facilities. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to diagnosis, treat and provide longitudinal care for these chronic diseases. Participate in research and education in CSF dynamics, hydrocephalus and intracranial hypertension and engage in teaching medical students, residents and fellows.

Responsibilities

CLINICAL - 100% - Reviews patient records and films, conducts in-depth interviews with patients, constructs comprehensive medical histories, conducts initial physical examinations, and explores patient's interpretation of health needs. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities. Responsible for academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department.

Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.
