Overview / Summary We are seeking a talented and innovative Hybrid Powertrain OBD Subsystem Engineer to support the development, validation, and maintenance of on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for hybrid propulsion technologies. This role focuses on meeting global diagnostic regulatory requirements through diagnostic software development, testing, calibration, and data analysis activities.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and deliver on-board diagnostic (OBD) solutions for hybrid propulsion technologies to meet global diagnostic regulatory requirements.
- Use Simulink to develop signal processing algorithms for requirements analysis and validation.
- Support the development of prototype algorithms for future translation into production embedded software.
- Perform and oversee HIL, on-road, and dynamometer data collection activities to calibrate and validate sensor performance and diagnostic monitoring capabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the design, development, and validation of engine diagnostic software.
- Lead and resolve software and calibration OBD issues with internal and external stakeholders.
- Author scripts using MATLAB, Python, and/or other scripting languages to analyze system and diagnostic behavior and support calibration activities.
- Prepare calibration guides, required regulatory documentation, and workshop manuals.
- Conduct software testing, data acquisition, data analysis, and calibration activities related to hybrid propulsion diagnostics.
Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in automotive product development, preferably in hybrid propulsion diagnostics.
- 2+ years of experience analyzing and reviewing programming languages such as C/C++, MATLAB, or Simulink.
- Ability to read and understand C/C++, MATLAB, or Simulink code.
- 2+ years of experience with data acquisition activities.
- 2+ years of experience in software testing.
- 2+ years of experience in data analysis.
- 2+ years of experience in calibration activities.
- Working knowledge of hybrid propulsion systems and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with Jira.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
