  • Lead integration of electrical propulsion and thermal management systems.
  • Drive verification and validation strategies, including ground and flight tests.

Full Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Hybrid Power & Energy Systems IPT and ensure alignment with aircraft program objectives.
  • Own scope, schedule, cost, quality, and technical delivery.
  • Coordinate across Propulsion, Electrical Systems, Thermal Management, Flight Controls, and Avionics teams.
  • Serve as the primary technical interface with customers, suppliers, and stakeholders.

System Architecture & Design
  • Define hybrid-electric propulsion architectures, including battery systems, electric motors, generators, power electronics, and energy management systems.
  • Perform system sizing, trade studies, energy flow analysis, and efficiency optimization.
  • Develop and manage System Requirement Documents (SRD), Interface Control Documents (ICD), and power distribution architectures.

Integration & Systems Engineering
  • Lead integration of electrical propulsion, power distribution, and thermal management systems.
  • Ensure compatibility with aircraft electrical networks, flight controls, structural constraints, and avionics systems.
  • Drive Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices throughout development.

Verification, Validation & Testing
  • Define and execute MIL, HIL, ground, and flight test validation strategies.
  • Validate system performance, energy efficiency, thermal behavior, reliability, and safety.
  • Ensure complete requirements traceability from design to validation.

Certification & Compliance
  • Lead certification activities in accordance with FAA, EASA, and DGCA requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with ARP4754A, ARP4761, and DO-160 standards.
  • Support evolving certification requirements for electric and hybrid propulsion systems.
  • Manage compliance documentation, safety assessments, and test reports.

Safety & Reliability Engineering
  • Conduct FHA, FMEA, and FTA activities.
  • Ensure battery safety, thermal runaway mitigation, fault tolerance, redundancy, and robust energy management strategies.
  • Drive reliability-focused system design and risk mitigation.

Stakeholder Management
  • Present architecture concepts, performance metrics, and risk mitigation plans to customers and leadership teams.
  • Support RFQs, proposals, effort estimation, and technology roadmap development.

Risk & Configuration Management
  • Identify and mitigate electrical, thermal, and integration risks.
  • Ensure adherence to configuration management and change control processes.
  • Manage dependencies across IPTs and development teams.

Required Qualifications

Education:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Energy Systems, or Power Electronics.

Experience:
  • 12-18+ years of experience in aerospace, automotive EV, or energy systems domains.
  • Strong experience in hybrid/electric propulsion systems and advanced mobility programs.
  • Proven leadership experience managing cross-functional IPT teams.

Technical Skills
  • Hybrid propulsion architectures and energy storage technologies.
  • Battery systems, power electronics, and electrical machines.
  • Energy management, optimization, and thermal management systems.
  • MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD, AMESim, and MBSE tools (Cameo, Rhapsody).
  • Knowledge of ARP4754A, ARP4761, DO-160, high-voltage aerospace systems, and EMI/EMC considerations.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience in eVTOL, UAV, or Advanced Air Mobility programs.
  • Exposure to sustainable aviation technologies and hydrogen fuel cells.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools such as 3DX and Teamcenter.
