Position Title: Hybrid CPA / Enrolled Agent
Salary Range: $85,000-$125,000 / Year, DOE with additional performance bonus potential
Turn tax expertise into real, measurable impact for clients. We are seeking a Hybrid CPA or Enrolled Agent to lead tax planning and strategy within a growing registered investment advisory firm serving high-net-worth individuals and retirees. This role goes beyond preparing returns-you'll work alongside financial advisors to uncover tax-saving opportunities, develop proactive strategies, prepare clients for future tax years, and help build a tax division designed to become an integral part of the firm's wealth management offering. The ideal candidate is a sharp, client-facing tax professional who genuinely enjoys tax strategy, stays ahead of changing regulations, and can translate complex concepts into clear, actionable guidance for clients.
Responsibilities - Spearhead the firm's tax division and provide proactive tax planning, strategy, and preparation services for high-net-worth clients
- Develop tax-saving strategies that complement clients' broader financial, retirement, and investment plans
- Prepare and review approximately 120 individual tax returns annually while supporting ongoing planning for a broader client base
- Partner closely with financial advisors and participate in client meetings to identify opportunities, answer tax-related questions and deliver highly personalized guidance
- Conduct year-round tax planning, projections and preparation to position clients for the upcoming tax year
- Stay current on evolving tax laws, strategies and planning opportunities and translate changes into practical recommendations for clients
- Contribute to client education initiatives, including the opportunity to lead tax seminars and explain strategies that have helped clients reduce their tax burden
Requirements - Active CPA or Enrolled Agent credential
- 3-5+ years of professional tax experience within an RIA, CPA firm, or similar client-focused tax environment
- Demonstrated experience developing tax strategies designed to reduce clients' tax liabilities, not solely preparing returns
- Strong client-facing communication skills with the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly and confidently
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas, pivot tables, and VLOOKUPs
- Strong working knowledge of tax planning, preparation, and compliance with a commitment to continuously expanding technical expertise
- Bachelor's degree
Benefits - Annual individual performance bonus potential of up to $20,000
- Hybrid work schedule following the initial training period, typically 3-4 days in the office and 1-2 days from home
- Annual compensation reviews with opportunities for raises, profit sharing, and continued earnings growth
- Significant career growth potential with the opportunity to expand the tax division and eventually build a team
If you're a CPA or EA who wants to do more than prepare returns and you're energized by finding smarter ways to help clients keep more of what they've earned, apply today.
