HVAC Service Manager

Unitemp - Somerset, NJ | Full-Time | $120K-$160K base + performance incentives

What you'll do
  • Run daily operations of the commercial service department - preventative maintenance, repairs, emergency service, retrofits, and small projects.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of HVAC service technicians and support staff.
  • Coordinate schedules and allocate resources so work gets done on time and done right.
  • Own departmental performance metrics: labor utilization, response times, revenue, and profitability.
  • Partner with sales, estimating, and project management to uncover upgrade and expansion opportunities with existing customers.
  • Build lasting customer relationships that drive satisfaction and repeat business - and step in personally to resolve escalated issues.
  • Get out in the field regularly to support your techs, evaluate workmanship, and uphold company standards.
  • Review service reports, proposals, and work orders for accuracy and completeness.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, OSHA standards, and applicable codes.
  • Manage departmental budgets, inventory, vehicles, tools, and equipment.
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, and retain top service talent - and lead performance evaluations, training, and career development.

What you bring

  • Proven experience managing service technicians and coordinating field operations.

  • Proficiency with service management software, dispatch systems, and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to read blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
