Full Job Description
Manages the Human Services marketing team of digital content professionals and freelance designers that is responsible for marketing UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education's Human Services branch (CPE HS) and programs, maintaining and promoting the branch's brand within the context of the main CPE and UC Davis brand guidelines, and building its awareness among multiple stakeholder audiences. Leads the development and implementation of marketing strategies for CPE HS overall and programs under that umbrella. Directs all CPE HS marketing efforts to build and maintain websites, develop promotional content, communicate with target audiences via email, social media and other channels, generate conference inquiries and enrollments, and fulfill contract requirements related to marketing and communications. Responsible for comprehensive strategic communications and creative functions, including concept development, creative direction, design production, assigning jobs and reviewing the quality of work to ensure it aligns with CPE HS's brand standards and expectations. Responsible for managing contracts and operational processes that impact the HS Marketing Team, in collaboration with CPE marketing colleagues. Serve as part of the Marketing leadership team, contributing to the development, execution and implementation of Marketing's strategic plan and major initiatives. Collaborate closely with CPE HS Leadership to prioritize and manage work of the HS marketing team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training
  • Extensive experience working in a creative capacity and directing writers, designers and other marketing professionals to produce strategic, outcomes-driven digital content, marketing materials and social media marketing that addresses the needs of targeted audiences and achieves identified goals.
  • Experience developing and implementing strategic plans that achieve desired outcomes.
  • Experience working in a high-volume communications/marketing environment, meeting critical deadlines and coordinating multiple assignments at various stages of development.
  • Experience supervising and managing staff, including hiring, coaching, appraisal/feedback, progressive discipline, workload management, etc.
  • Experience managing complicated projects with multiple stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic marketing planning. Demonstrated knowledge of digital marketing and social media practices and platforms. Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills. Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience using a CMS to update and maintain web content. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Experience in the human services or related fields.
  • Experience working with designers, printers, photographers, videographers and other visual communicators, including knowledge of print production techniques and vocabulary.
