Full Job Description
BIG PICTURE:
We are seeking a strategic, organized Human Resources Sr. Manager to support our growing global team in Burbank, CA. This full-time, in-person role is the leader in building a world class people organization including driving talent acquisition, employee development, and fostering a positive, inclusive culture. The position oversees employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits, compliance, and HR policies to support organizational growth. The ideal candidate will have media production experience, a passion for people management, and the ability to implement effective HR strategies in a dynamic, creative environment.

HOW YOU'LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
  • Build and execute overall HR plan and processes to build a high functioning, fast moving digital production culture.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with employees at all levels, addressing concerns, resolving conflicts, and maintaining a high level of engagement.
  • Manage the recruiting process and ensure a seamless and efficient hiring process while attracting and securing top digital and production talent.
  • Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are seamlessly integrated into the company processes, procedures, physical office space and culture.
  • Partner with finance and production to process start paperwork and ensure payroll accuracy and timely execution.
  • Oversee the administration of employee benefits packages, including health insurance.
  • Work with department heads to create performance management strategies, including goal-setting, regular feedback, and annual reviews.
  • Design and implement training programs that support our culture, career development, skills enhancement, and leadership growth.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, including industry-specific regulations, policies, and workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain the proper corporate insurance coverage and limits, including workers' compensation, cyber liability, errors & omissions (E&O), general liability, and other necessary insurance policies. Manage all Workers' Compensation claims, from initial injury report through to claim resolution and closure.


WHAT YOU HAVE:
  • 7+ years of experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role in the film/video production industry, preferably with digital/social media experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required. HR Certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of California HR practices, labor laws, employee classifications and safety standards within the media and production industry.
  • Proven track record in talent acquisition, employee relations, and performance management. Experience with a global workforce, a plus.
  • Experience in managing employee benefits programs, payroll, and health insurance. Experience with EOR's and PEO's is a plus.
  • Must demonstrate a pro-active approach to organizing and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in HR software and tools, including HRIS systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and project management tools (e.g., G-Suite, Greenslate, BambooHR, JustWorks).
  • Passion for fostering a positive workplace culture that supports creativity, inclusivity, and well-being.
  • Must be on site in the office in Burbank, CA at 5 days a week and be available after hours and on the weekends for HR matters as they arise.
