About the RoleThe Human Resources Operations and Benefits Specialist will support and administer key HR functions with a strong emphasis on benefits management, leave programs, and human resources information system (HRIS) administration. This mid-level role is ideal for a professional with keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality employee support.
General responsibilities include:- Managing day-to-day administration of employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
- Serving as the main point of contact for employee questions regarding benefits, policies, and procedures, addressing concerns in a timely and confidential manner.
- Partnering with vendors and brokers to resolve issues and support the open enrollment process.
- Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to benefits and leave administration.
- Coordination and administration of leave programs, including parental leave, short- and long-term disability, state, and other applicable policies.
- Working with the finance team to ensure leave balances, benefit deductions, and invoices are accurate.
- Maintaining records and preparing reports for internal use and decision-making.
- Acting as system administrator for the HRIS platform, ensuring data integrity, system functionality, and user support.
- Maintenance and auditing of employee data, including new hires, terminations, job changes, and benefits updates.
- Supporting system upgrades, implementations, and process improvements.
- Coordinating with Marketing and Communications to provide clear, timely communication to employees regarding benefits, policies, and HR processes.
- Development and maintenance of documentation, guides, and FAQs related to benefits and HRIS usage.
- Assisting in training employees and managers on HR systems and procedures.
Requirements:- 3-5 years of HR experience, with a strong focus on benefits and HRIS management.
- Demonstrated knowledge of health plans, leave management, and applicable laws.
- Experience working with HRIS platforms. Previous Rippling experience is a plus.

The pay range for this role is:
73,000 - 95,000 USD per year (Silver Spring, MD)
