Full Job Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Officer, Recruitment and Benefits is responsible for the full-cycle recruitment process and administration of employee benefit programs. This position provides professional human resources support and guidance to managers and employees on matters including recruitment and selection, labour relations, classification, compensation, benefits administration, employee relations, and organizational policies and procedures. The incumbent also provides back-up support for payroll administration.

QUALIFICATIONS

Applicants require a comprehensive knowledge of diverse human resources practices coupled with well-developed communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to perform independently, utilizing sound judgment, is essential.

The position requires a university degree in human resources, labour relations, and/or a related field, along with a minimum of five years related experience in human resources, preferably in a unionized environment. A professional designation such as CPHR (Chartered Professional in Human Resources) or equivalent is preferred.

SALARY

The City of Yellowknife offers a starting salary of $120,025 per annum, along with a comprehensive benefit package, including a monthly housing and vacation travel allowance totalling $450 per month, and a defined benefit pension plan.
