Full Job Description
The HR Manager directs all Human Resource functions, including developing, implementing, and enforcing company polices, employment laws, and safety requirements. This role leads labor relations, including union negotiations and grievance management, oversees talent acquisition, employee development, employee relations, payroll, benefits, and workers' compensation and safety and fosters an engaged, compliant, and high-performing workforce.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Oversee, direct, and lead the Human Resources department and its staff.

2. Serve as liaison between various staff (both union and non-union); lead union contract negotiations, mentor leadership in employee relations, engagement, and conflict resolution.

3. Lead union grievance process to resolve grievances and issues in compliance with established practices, company policies and the union contract.

4. Enforce company polices, including conducting employee investigations and issuing disciplinary action.

5. Oversees and supports talent acquisition for all levels of staffing. Full cycle recruitment including job descriptions, job posting, applicant screening, interviewing, offers, the onboarding process, and overall recruiting strategy.

6. Oversees the administration and the strategy of employee benefit programs, including health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) retirement plans, STD, LTD, and life insurance. Assist with benefits administration.

7. Oversee employee engagement including Masterson Store, Masterson Pillars programs and any wellness and educational agendas.

8. Co-Lead company safety programs with VP of Operation; manage worker's compensation programs with a focus on regulatory compliance and effective claims management in partnership with insurance brokers and providers. Oversee all safety & OSHA related documentation, and lead in any OSHA proceedings.

9. Oversee and implement training and development systems to increase operational efficiency, safety, and compliance. This includes Masterson University, employee reviews, safety training and new hire/new role training and documentation.

10. Support company retention efforts and conduct exit interviews to identify risks, trends, and opportunities for organizational improvement. Provide coaching and counsel to company management and leadership to support engagement and retention.

11. Creatively prepare and plan company events, including Masterson employee appreciation week, recognition parties, Brewers outings and various lunches and activities thru-out the year.

12. Oversee and backup payroll administration and related tasks.

13. Maintain and develop company policies for HR, Administration, and Safety.

14. Responsible for aspects of safety, food safety, continuous improvement/efficiency improvement and adhering to policies and procedures as related to the position

15. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations

16. Perform other tasks as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
• Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 10 years+ in HR with 3+ years of human resources leadership.
• Professional certification preferred.
• 3+ years' experience with a HRIS - preferably ADP Workforce Now.
• Experience with union and non-union workforces strongly preferred.
• Involvement with developing training programs, full-cycle recruiting, and benefits administration required.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, verbal and written, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff. Bilingual (Spanish) a plus.
• Motivational with a sociable and approachable personality to establish trust with employees and de-escalate adverse situations quickly.
• Able to handle multiple tasks with capability of prioritizing and planning work activities.
• Advanced decision-making capability, strong attention to details and a strong ability to use data (including employee testimony) to draw conclusions, evaluate trends and solve problems.
• Utmost integrity and the ability to maintain confidential information

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• The employee will routinely lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally move/push/pull 50 pounds.
• Prolonged sitting, typing while at a desk combined with standing, walking, stairs, squatting kneeling as needed.
• Potential for hot/cold, noise, and general plant exposures while within our wet manufacturing environment
