Full Job Description
As an HR Manager at PIP-HSP, North Charleston manufacturing site, you will lead and execute comprehensive HR strategies to support business objectives. This role supports an $80M revenue site with approximately 335 employees and operates within a Process Safety Management (PSM) environment, requiring strong knowledge of regulatory compliance and safety-driven culture.

You will oversee HR operations including employee relations, performance management, talent acquisition, and policy compliance, while ensuring alignment with both operational and safety objectives. You will directly manage one HR team member (HR Generalist or equivalent), providing coaching, direction, and development. You will serve as a strategic partner to site leadership while maintaining a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. This position plays a critical role in driving employee engagement, fostering a positive work culture, ensuring compliance, and building a high-performing workforce.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serve as the primary HR partner to site leadership, advising on employee relations, organizational effectiveness, and workforce planning within a PSM-regulated environment
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations and conflict resolution
  • Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning
  • Oversee workforce planning in collaboration with Operations and Finance, including headcount forecasting for a 335-employee site
  • Partner with talent acquisition to develop hiring strategies and ensure effective recruitment outcomes
  • Oversee onboarding and orientation processes to ensure a strong employee experience
  • Ensure compliance with all HR policies, procedures, and applicable federal/state labor laws, as well as PSM-related workforce requirements and training compliance
  • Develop and implement HR programs and initiatives aligned to business goals
  • Analyze workforce metrics and trends to inform decision-making and continuous improvement
  • Partner with HSE to support workplace safety initiatives and reinforce a strong safety culture
  • Lead and support change management efforts across the site

REQUIREMENTS
  • Employee Relations: Advanced skills in conflict resolution, investigations, and coaching leaders
  • Leadership & People Management: Ability to lead and develop HR talent while influencing business leaders
  • Recruitment & Workforce Planning: Experience managing hiring strategies for mid-size manufacturing workforce (~300+ employees)
  • HR Compliance & PSM Awareness: Strong understanding of labor laws and experience supporting PSM or highly regulated environments
  • HR Systems & Analytics: Proficient in HRIS platforms, workforce metrics, and Microsoft tools
  • Business Partnership: Ability to align HR initiatives with operational and financial goals of an $80M site
