Full Job Description
SUMMARY:

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager who will oversee and drive all human resources operations for our aerospace materials and parts manufacturing facility. Because of our status as a Federal subcontractor, this role requires a professional who combines strong traditional HR leadership with a deep, practical understanding of federal compliance. The ideal candidate will champion our workforce development, manage risk, and sustain a culture of safety, quality, and precision. In this role, you will lead employee relations, recruitment, compensation, training, benefits administration, and employment equity programs while helping promote and sustain our company culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Culture & Strategy: Promote and communicate Park's culture. Actively engage with employees in the workplace and lead projects that drive skill development and career growth within the Park's Customer Flex Program.

Recruitment & Talent Acquisition: Manage full-cycle recruitment for exempt, nonexempt, and temporary roles - including job postings, screening, interviewing, reference checks, job offers, and new-hire onboarding.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Administer compensation programs, write/update job descriptions, manage performance evaluation systems,
  • Manage the administration of health benefits, retirement plans, workers' compensation, and FMLA/short-term disability tracking. (invoice approvals, change reporting).

Compliance:
  • Develop, maintain, and execute the company's Affirmative Action Plan (AAP). Ensure complete compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) guidelines, including timely filing of EEO-1 and VETS-4212 reports.
  • Partner with the Compliance team to ensure all recruitment, onboarding, and background screening processes comply with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Export Administration Regulations (EAR).

Employee Relations: Provide guidance on employee relations, conduct exit interviews, maintain department records, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

Process Improvement: Develop department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Evaluate HR reports and outcomes against department goals to recommend modern strategies that enhance operational efficiency.

SKILLS and EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is required.

Experience: 5+ years of progressive HR experience required with at least 2 years in a management role; HR experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

Citizenship: Due to ITAR/EAR compliance and access to sensitive defense data, the candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder).

Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with both hourly floor workers and executive leadership.

Compliance & Tools: Thorough understanding of Kansas Labor practices and employment laws required; proficiency in Microsoft Office required.

Certifications (Optional): SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
