Job Title: Human Resources ManagerJob DescriptionThis Human Resources Manager role supports the launch and growth of a new manufacturing operation in Marion, Indiana. You will build the HR function from the ground up by creating job descriptions, leading full-cycle recruitment and onboarding for both hourly and salaried employees, and establishing core HR processes and policies as the facility scales. This position is ideal for a hands-on, adaptable HR professional who enjoys creating structure in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment and partnering closely with site leadership to shape the organization.
Responsibilities- Partner with site leadership to design the organizational structure, define roles, and create clear, accurate job descriptions for salaried and hourly positions.
- Lead full-cycle recruiting, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selecting candidates for technical, operational, professional, and manufacturing roles.
- Manage the onboarding process by coordinating orientation, training, and a smooth transition into company culture, safety expectations, and work processes.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures that align with business needs, applicable regulations, and company values.
- Support core HR functions such as employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefits administration, and compliance with federal, Indiana, and local employment laws.
- Collaborate on workforce planning and talent development initiatives, helping to design training, development, and retention strategies as the facility grows.
- Oversee HR administration, including maintaining personnel files, coordinating payroll activities when needed, managing leaves of absence, and preparing HR reports.
- Serve as a trusted HR advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on HR policies, employee relations matters, and best practices to support a positive, safe, and compliant workplace.
- Take on daily HR leadership responsibilities as operations expand, including driving employee engagement initiatives, supporting diversity efforts, and continuously improving HR programs and processes.
Essential Skills- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources Management role.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing HR for a facility or workforce of at least 75 employees.
- Recent HR experience within a manufacturing or production environment.
- Proven success recruiting and hiring production workers and other hourly roles.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience across all core HR functions, including recruiting, benefits, payroll, onboarding, and employee relations.
- Proficiency in human resource management practices, including policy development, performance management, and compliance.
- Ability to build HR processes and structure in a fast-paced, growth-oriented setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills to effectively partner with site leadership and employees at all levels.
- High level of discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive employee information and HR matters.
Additional Skills & Qualifications- Experience supporting employee benefits administration and explaining benefits programs to employees.
- Experience in managing or coordinating payroll-related activities in partnership with internal or external payroll resources.
- Ability to design and deliver onboarding and training programs that reinforce company culture and safety standards.
- Experience contributing to workforce planning, talent development, and retention strategies in a growing organization.
- Comfort serving as a primary HR point of contact in a new or expanding facility.
- Interest in long-term career growth as the organization scales to 200+ employees.
Work EnvironmentThis is a full-time, onsite position at a new manufacturing facility in Marion, Indiana. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. You will work closely with site leadership and employees on the production floor and in office settings as the operation grows. The environment is fast-paced and growth-focused, with significant opportunity to shape the HR function and advance as the organization expands to more than 200 employees.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
