Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Job Description
The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic and operational HR partner, leading and supporting the daily functions of the Human Resources department while providing comprehensive guidance across employee relations, performance management, leave administration, compliance, and HR operations. This role collaborates closely with employees, leaders, and cross-functional HR teams to ensure employment actions are consistent, legally compliant, and aligned with company policies, labor laws, and business objectives. The Human Resources Manager facilitates employee relations matters, performance management processes, leadership training and development initiatives, leave management, and termination procedures, while coaching and supporting management on a wide range of workforce issues in a dynamic corporate environment.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and management by addressing workplace concerns, conducting investigations, and supporting conflict resolution in alignment with company policies and best practices.
  • Partner with HR team members to identify, share, and apply HR best practices across the organization.
  • Coordinate and respond to unemployment claims, including preparing documentation and representing the company as needed.
  • Support compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and assist with external audits.
  • Administer and manage all aspects of employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA accommodations, and other federal and state leave requirements, ensuring compliance across multiple states, including California.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation for leave management and accommodation processes, ensuring timely follow-up and recordkeeping within the HRIS system.
  • Serve as a backup resource to support and guide HR team members, management, and staff when complex, specialized, or sensitive HR issues arise.
  • Administer and execute routine HR tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and managing terminations.
  • Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS system, including data entry for new hires and proper account allocations, while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist with various HR initiatives and administrative tasks, contributing to process improvements and overall HR team efficiency.
  • Provide tactical support in benefits, recruiting, and other HR functions to support the full employee lifecycle and ensure efficient delivery of HR programs, policies, and services.
  • Partner effectively with cross-functional teams to support broader HR and organizational needs in a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Act as a backup HR resource for California-related HR matters as needed.
  • Support performance management processes and leadership training and development initiatives.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to management on employee relations, performance, and workforce issues.

Essential Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of human resources management experience.
  • Progressive HR experience, including leave administration, compliance, and employee relations.
  • Thorough knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations across multiple U.S. states, with the ability to interpret requirements and ensure consistent, compliant HR practices.
  • Strong knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and employment law, with hands-on experience evaluating and certifying FMLA documentation and facilitating the ADA interactive process.
  • Experience partnering with employees to gather required information for leave and accommodation processes and ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Experience maintaining accurate and up-to-date HR records within an HRIS system.
  • Experience handling unemployment claims and supporting external audits.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling confidential information.

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
