Job Title: Human Resources Manager

Assignment Type: Direct Hire

Pay: $100,000 - $115,000/year

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM (Fully onsite; occasional overtime and weekend support as needed)

Job Description:

The Human Resources Manager will oversee the organization's HR operations while serving as the technical HR expert for compliance, employee relations, and employment practices. This role will lead an established HR team, partner closely with leadership, and provide guidance on complex HR matters while ensuring alignment with California employment laws and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and provide leadership to the HR team while overseeing daily HR operations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on California employment law, compliance, and HR risk management
  • Lead employee relations efforts, including workplace investigations, corrective actions, and employee separations
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations, reporting requirements, and HR documentation standards
  • Oversee benefits administration, leave management, HR systems, and employee records
  • Partner with leadership on HR initiatives, employee engagement, and organizational improvements
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee development initiatives
  • Manage HR projects, process improvements, and system enhancements
  • Maintain accurate compliance reporting and documentation
  • Provide HR support across multiple worksites as needed

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 6+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Previous HR Manager experience required
  • Experience managing and developing HR team members
  • Strong knowledge of California employment laws and HR compliance requirements
  • Experience handling employee relations, investigations, and employment risk matters
  • Background with EEOC compliance, wage and hour regulations, unemployment matters, and HR reporting
  • Experience with benefits administration and HR operations
  • Experience using HRIS and ATS platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required for occasional travel between worksites

Additional Details:

This role is best suited for a hands-on HR leader with strong technical expertise who can confidently navigate complex employee situations and provide strategic guidance to leadership. The ideal candidate will have previous people management experience and a strong understanding of California employment compliance.

Candidates with only HR Business Partner experience or those looking for their first HR management role will not be the best fit for this opportunity.
