As the
HR Manager, you will play a foundational role in building our U.S. organization from the ground up. You will be responsible for developing and executing the company's people strategy, establishing HR operations and policies, supporting rapid organizational growth, and creating a high-performance culture that attracts, develops, and retains exceptional talent.
This is a hands-on, strategic role requiring an experienced HR professional who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. You will partner closely with leadership to build scalable HR processes, support managers, ensure compliance with U.S. employment laws, and help establish the company as an employer of choice in the defense technology industry.
Key Responsibilities- Build and scale the company's U.S. HR function, policies, processes, and people programs from the ground up.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, talent strategy, and headcount planning to support rapid business growth.
- Lead the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, performance management, employee development, engagement, retention, and offboarding.
- Develop and implement HR policies, employee handbooks, compensation frameworks, performance review processes, and career development programs.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws, HR best practices, and company policies.
- Partner with Talent Acquisition to support hiring strategies, workforce planning, and employer branding initiatives.
- Coach managers on employee relations, performance management, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development.
- Manage employee relations matters, investigations, conflict resolution, and performance improvement processes.
- Support compensation, benefits administration, HRIS management, payroll coordination, and HR reporting.
- Develop initiatives that foster employee engagement, accountability, collaboration, and a high-performance culture.
- Establish HR metrics and reporting to support data-driven people decisions.
- Support organizational change, business scaling, and continuous improvement initiatives as the company grows.
Requirements- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including scaling HR functions within a startup or high-growth company.
- 3+ years of experience in defense technology, aerospace, robotics, advanced manufacturing, or other highly technical industries.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and HR compliance.
- Experience implementing HR policies, procedures, and scalable people processes.
- Excellent knowledge of employee relations, performance management, compensation, and organizational development.
- Experience partnering directly with executive leadership and people managers.
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling confidential information.
