Full Job Description
HR Isn't a Department Here. It's a Team Sport.

At Ready Foods, our HR team is deeply connected to the business. We spend time on the production floor, build strong relationships with supervisors and employees, solve problems in real time and help create a workplace where people can thrive.

We're looking for an HR Generalist who enjoys being visible, engaged, and trusted. The successful candidate builds relationships easily, uses sound judgment, and can balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This person is resourceful, comfortable asking good questions, and able to follow through on employee and business needs with practical solutions. If you enjoy solving problems and want to continue growing in HR, we'd love to meet you.

Professional fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this role. The HR Generalist regularly partners with employees and supervisors throughout the facility and must be able to communicate effectively, conduct employee discussions, address workplace concerns, and provide guidance in both languages.

What You'll Do

As the HR Generalist supporting one of our manufacturing plants (approximately 50 employees), you will:

  • Serve as the primary HR partner for supervisors and employees.
  • Build strong relationships through regular floor presence and employee interaction.
  • Support employee relations, investigations, performance management, accommodations, leave administration and workplace concerns.
  • Support supervisors with practical guidance, timely follow-up, and clear communication when employee or operational issues arise.
  • Coordinate recruiting, onboarding and employee retention activities.
  • Maintain employment records and ensure HR compliance.
  • Partner with payroll, benefits, safety, training and operations teams.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and help implement practical solutions.
  • Balance multiple priorities while responding to employee and operational needs.

Who Thrives in This Role

The successful candidate:

  • Uses good judgment and common sense when handling employee issues.
  • Can prioritize and adapt when multiple urgent matters arise at the same time.
  • Is resourceful and comfortable figuring things out when there is not always a clear roadmap.
  • Builds credibility and trust with both hourly employees and supervisors.
  • Communicates professionally, even during difficult conversations.
  • Enjoys being present in the operation rather than sitting behind a desk all day.
  • Takes ownership of problems and follows them through to resolution.
  • Brings recommendations and solutions, not just problems.
  • Collaborates well with leaders, peers and the broader HR team.
  • Understands that every day in manufacturing is different-and enjoys that challenge.

This Role May Not Be the Best Fit If:

  • You are looking for a remote or hybrid position.
  • You prefer highly structured work with detailed instructions for every task.
  • You become frustrated when priorities change quickly.
  • You prefer routine work and do not enjoy adjusting when employee or operational needs change.
  • You are uncomfortable having difficult conversations.
  • You prefer working behind the scenes rather than building relationships throughout the facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field or equivalent combination of education and relevant HR experience.
  • Three or more years of progressive HR experience.
  • Experience supporting employee relations, performance management and workplace investigations.
  • Manufacturing, food production, distribution or operations experience preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish/English
  • PHR, SHRM-CP or other HR certification is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

After your first year:

  • Employees know who you are and trust you.
  • Supervisors seek your input because they value your judgment.
  • Employee concerns are addressed proactively.
  • Processes are more organized and effective because of your contributions.
  • You are viewed as a dependable HR Resource who brings practical solutions, not just HR answers.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is $75,637 - $124,802 annually. Final compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, skills, and overall fit. Most candidates who meet the position requirements can expect an offer in the mid-$80,000s range.
