Description
Human Resources DirectorPosition SummaryThe Human Resources Director serves as a key member of the leadership team and is responsible for developing and implementing human resource strategies that support the YMCA's mission, values, and organizational goals. This position oversees talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, compliance, and organizational culture.
Essential Responsibilities- Lead all aspects of human resources operations for the YMCA.
- Develop and implement recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top talent.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and mission-driven workplace culture.
- Provide coaching and guidance to supervisors and managers on employee relations, performance management, and leadership development.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and YMCA policies.
- Administer employee benefits, compensation programs, and leave management.
- Oversee onboarding, orientation, and staff development initiatives.
- Ensures accurate personnel records and HR reporting systems.
- Support succession planning and workforce development efforts.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic planning and organizational initiatives.
- Oversee Property and Casualty insurance and manage risk management and employee safety programs.
- Works directly with assigned committees of the board to build volunteer relationships, develop and oversee policy implementation and meet the related needs of the board.
- Represents the YMCA with key community organizations and events as required.
Requirements
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, or Business Administration. Master's degree preferred by not required.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive HR leadership experience; nonprofit experience preferred.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, HR best practices, and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence at all organizational levels.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Experience with HRIS systems, payroll administration, and benefits management preferred.

$82,000 - $98,000
