Human Resources Business Partner - Talent & Employee Experience

Location: Houston, TX

Schedule: Full-Time | Exempt

Compensation: $120,000 - $170,000

Reporting To: Senior HR Leadership

Work Arrangement: Primarily onsite with periodic travel to regional operational facilities

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced HR professional to serve as a strategic partner across talent acquisition, employee engagement, compliance, and day-to-day human resources operations. This role will support both corporate and field-based teams in a dynamic, fast-moving environment, helping drive workforce initiatives and maintain a strong employee experience.

The ideal candidate brings a blend of recruiting expertise, employee relations experience, and operational HR knowledge. This person will thrive in a hands-on environment, work effectively across multiple business functions, and contribute to building scalable HR processes that support business growth.

Core Responsibilities

Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
  • Lead end-to-end hiring efforts across a broad range of positions including corporate, technical, operational, skilled trades, and leadership roles
  • Build proactive sourcing pipelines through networking, referrals, social platforms, industry outreach, and direct recruiting strategies
  • Conduct candidate evaluations, interviews, and screening assessments
  • Collaborate closely with business leaders to understand hiring priorities and workforce needs
  • Partner with leadership to create competitive offer packages and support compensation discussions
  • Manage candidate communication throughout the hiring lifecycle to ensure a positive experience
  • Track recruiting performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve hiring efficiency
  • Oversee all pre-employment activities including screenings, background checks, and onboarding preparation

Employee Experience & HR Operations
  • Support onboarding initiatives to ensure seamless integration for new employees
  • Assist with internal promotions, transfers, and workforce movement
  • Coordinate temporary staffing and contingent workforce processes
  • Review workforce-related invoices and staffing expenditures as needed
  • Facilitate offboarding processes including exit discussions and turnover analysis
  • Serve as a key resource for employees and managers on HR-related questions and policies

Employee Relations & Business Partnership
  • Provide guidance to leaders and employees on workplace policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Support employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment
  • Partner with leadership to address workplace concerns and support positive team dynamics
  • Help strengthen organizational culture through employee engagement and HR initiatives

Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Maintain compliance with employment laws and internal policies across multiple jurisdictions
  • Support HR audits, reporting requirements, and documentation management
  • Ensure HR processes align with regulatory standards and internal controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve systems, workflows, and overall HR effectiveness
  • Travel to operational locations as needed to support workforce initiatives

Qualifications
  • 7+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with strong exposure to recruiting and employee relations
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline preferred
  • Professional HR certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP highly preferred
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations, technical teams, and corporate functions
  • Strong working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices across multiple states
  • Experience using HRIS platforms, applicant tracking systems, and reporting tools
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands
  • Excellent communication skills and strong stakeholder management abilities
  • Proven ability to build trust and work effectively across all levels of an organization
  • Self-motivated with strong business acumen and a solution-oriented mindset

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular use of office equipment and extended periods of sitting, standing, and computer work. Occasional travel to operational facilities is required, including walking job sites, climbing stairs, and navigating active work environments. Personal protective equipment may be required during certain site visits.
