HUMAN RESOURCES BUSINESS PARTNER (12 MONTH MATERNITY LEAVE CONTRACT) - CALGARYThe HR Business Partner takes a leading role in managing the Company's people related initiatives. This role will provide day-to-day HR guidance and support to assigned departments and base locations to promote the alignment, consistency, and adherence to HR programs and Trican's Core Values.
Responsibilities: - Ensure that Trican's core value, "Safe equipment and operations" is the priority in all activities.
- Primary contact to provide practical guidance, assistance, and interpretation in all areas of HR including but not limited to: disability management (including WCB), employee benefits implementation, policy and process clarification and administration, employee retention and engagement, change management, employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Support the standardization and unified approach of HR programs and processes across departments and bases.
- Monitor and contribute to ongoing improvements in staffing processes and strategies.
- Actively participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of HR projects and new initiatives.
- Assist when required in the recruiting, integration, and departure of employees.
- Analyze trends and metrics related to HR, report on, and suggest improvements when necessary.
- Stay current on HR trends and best practices, including employment laws and regulations in all operating provinces.
- Collaborate with, and support other departments such as Operations, Payroll, HSE, Finance, and Training.
- Provide back up support to other HRBP's and HR Coordinator.
Experience & Skills: - Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in Human Resources
- Minimum five years experience in a Business Partner, Human Resources or Generalist role with working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines
- CPHR designation is preferred
- Experience with disability management is required
- HR experience in oil and gas is preferred
- Workday experience is an asset
- Excellent knowledge of current employment and human rights legislation
- Display a high degree of integrity and professionalism when interacting with employees, management, and customers
- Ability to quickly develop and maintain strong relationships
- Comfortable to present HR material to groups of various sizes
- Must possess a valid driver's license for travel to base locations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to deal with confidential issues in a sensitive, efficient, and professional manner
- Ability to remain innovative and positive in times of constraints and challenges and pivot quickly when priorities shift
- Strong problem solving, decision making, and conflict resolution skills

Working Conditions: - Monday to Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, full time in-office
- Travel required to locations across the Western provinces, recruitment fairs participation, etc is required.
- Occasional responsibilities outside regular office hours
