HUMAN RESOURCES ADVISOR
(Permanent, Full-Time)

The Human Resources Department has an opening for a permanent, full-time Human Resources Advisor. We are seeking a relationship-focused HR professional with a strategic mindset and a passion for partnering with leaders and employees to foster an engaged, high-performing workplace, while approaching their work through a lens of inclusion, belonging, and reconciliation.

Reporting to the Manager, Human Resources, this position is responsible for:
• Providing consultation and advice to managers and staff on a wide range of human resource programs, processes, initiatives and labour relations matters;
• Leading workplace investigations related to employee relations matters and providing objective findings, advice, and recommendations;
• Ensuring that practices are consistent and comply with legislation, collective agreements, administrative regulations, policies and procedures;
• Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, managers, bargaining agents, and external contacts, and interacting in a manner that builds trust, credibility, and rapport;
• Coordinating, guiding, and participating in the recruitment and selection process; and,
• Participating in other duties and special projects, as assigned.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Human Resources or a related field and progressive experience supporting a broad range of people and organizational initiatives within a unionized public sector environment. They are a collaborative and solutions-oriented professional with strong business acumen, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to partner effectively with leaders and employees. The successful candidate demonstrates empathy, patience, and responsiveness, applying an inclusive and people-centered approach to their advice, decision-making, and workplace interactions. They exercise sound judgment, possess excellent communication and facilitation skills, demonstrate strong organizational capabilities and a commitment to continuous improvement. A CPHR designation is considered an asset.

The successful candidate will be required to supply an acceptable police information check and a copy of their credentials. A personal vehicle and a valid BC Driver's License are required.

Exempt - Permanent, Full-time

Hours of Work:

35 hours per week (hours and days of work may vary)

Salary:

$102,700 - $115,500 per annum
