Human Resource Generalist – Onsite

Shelby, OH, United States

 

The Job:  

As a Human Resource Generalist, you’ll be part of our Human Resources team working as an on-site employee.  You’ll get to:   

  • Support the day-to-day operations of the HR department and manage HR programs, Talent Development, and policies and procedures for the business.
  • Provide support to all major HR functions such as Employee Relations, Recruiting, Onboarding, Compensation, Engagement and Training.
  • Represent employee advocacy and strong business partner relations.
  • Develop an employee-oriented culture that strives for safety, quality, continuous improvement, and productivity.
  • Work together with employees, supervisors, and managers to resolve employee relations issues.
  • Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures.
  • Reinforces and advocates for Open Door Policy across the leadership team.
  • Adheres to Employee handbook on policies and procedures.
  • Fosters a consistent, clear, concise communication plan.
  • Plan and coordinate recruitment strategies.  This includes sourcing (internet, job fairs, newspapers, agencies, etc.) interviewing, selection, diversity initiatives, background checks, drug testing, and manpower planning.
  • FMLA/Disability administration/Worker’s Compensation administration.
  • Support Payroll administration by reviewing time and attendance daily for all hourly employees within UKG Workforce Pro system.
  • Supports training, new hire orientation facilitation, and employee recognition/events.
  • Participates in working groups, councils, and committees.
  • Support HR-related projects.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred/Associates degree required.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in Human Resources employee relations.
  • Experience in a distribution center or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of principles and practices of personnel administration, effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong conflict management skills.
  • Highly skilled in MS Office Suite. (PowerPoint, Excel) required.
  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated with an emphasis on keeping customer and business commitments.
  • Consistently demonstrates the highest level of personal ethical conduct and leads by example with strong values.
  • Experience managing and maintaining confidentiality (including treatment of confidential documents).
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to manage and organize multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willing to occasionally work additional hours to cover shifts for communication rhythms or activities.

The Salary range for this position is $62,200.00 - $100,200.00
