The Human Systems Engineering team provides one of the most unique opportunities at Aeronautics to work closely with pilots and engineers to help develop the newest tactical capabilities for the warfighters of today and tomorrow.
What You Will Be Doing:
Our Human Systems Engineering team within Skunk Works provides technical support to engineering teams across Lockheed Martin Aeronautics for multiple platforms including the F-16, F-22, F-35, and Advanced Development Programs and products (Cockpits, Displays, Graphical User Interface, Egress Systems, Pilot Flight Equipment and Life Support) during all phases of the lifecycle. As a Human Factors Engineering Lead for Skunk Works, you will impact Lockheed Martin Advanced Development initiatives by positively collaborating with pilots, users, maintainers, and Human Systems Integration Domain SMEs (Manpower, Personnel, Training, Human Factors Engineering, Habitability, Safety and Occupational Health and Force Protection and Survivability), to understand Human Systems Integration concerns as new products are designed and improved upon.
Beyond that, you may also find yourself:
• Representing the Skunk Works team in program execution (cost, schedule and technical performance), proposal activities, customer interfaces, and supplier engagement.
• Integrating operator interfaces with Universal Command and Control Interface (UCI) message sets and architectures.
• Ensuring human interface design concepts conveys customer intent into the design
• Evaluate operational impact to system architects and designers to inform system level design.
• Collaborating with software developers, the customer, and program management to design human interfaces, obtain design decisions, and reconcile customer intent against feasibility, cost, and complexity of various design modifications.
• Providing human factors expertise to support technical baseline management, technical reviews, system demonstrations, and Human Systems Integration.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher from an accredited college in a Human Factors or related discipline
- Team leadership experience
- Strong and proven understanding of the Engineering development process (Systems Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, Human Systems Integration)
- Experience with control account management, project planning, and scheduling
- Customer engagement experience
Desired skills
- Experience with Human Systems Integration planning and execution
- Proven communication skills, presentation skills, team building and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships (both internal to LM and with customers)
- Prior mentoring experience
Work Schedule Information
Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
National Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $128,400 - $226,435. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
Premium Pay Statement
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in most major metropolitan areas in California, Massachusetts, and New York is $147,700 - $255,990. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate's final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
