Full Job Description
The HSEQ Manager is responsible for driving quality excellence at the plant and operational level by ensuring robust execution of quality systems, process discipline, and defect prevention across manufacturing sites in the Americas. This role leads the implementation and sustainment of the Quality Management System (QMS) with a strong focus on shop floor execution, process capability, and right-first-time performance. In addition, the position provides leadership for Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE), and Security programs, ensuring that safe, reliable, and compliant operations are consistently executed at the site level through strong standards, accountability, and continuous improvement. A Day in the Life Plant-Level Quality Execution & Control (Primary Emphasis) • Serve as the owner of plant-level Quality Management System execution, ensuring procedures, controls, and standards are consistently applied across all manufacturing sites. • Drive process discipline and adherence to standard work, ensuring quality is built into operations rather than inspected at the end. • Implement and sustain in-process quality controls, including critical control points, inspections, and process monitoring to prevent defects and variability. • Lead efforts to improve process capability (Cp/Cpk), off spec creation, scrap reduction, and First Pass Prime performance. • Own the customer complaint and non-conformance process, ensuring strong root cause analysis (RCA), corrective/preventive actions, and feedback loops into plant operations. • Partner directly with plant leadership, operations, and maintenance teams to identify, prioritize, and resolve chronic quality issues impacting production and customer satisfaction. • Ensure effective use of data and real-time metrics at the plant level to monitor quality performance and drive immediate action when deviations occur. • Maintain and enforce clear, practical, and auditable procedures and work instructions that support execution on the shop floor. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence • Lead site-level problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, and structured RCA methodologies. • Drive initiatives focused on defect elimination, waste reduction, and variation control within manufacturing processes. • Facilitate Gemba-based engagement, working directly on the shop floor to identify improvement opportunities and reinforce quality standards. • Support implementation of the Operational Excellence model, ensuring quality principles are embedded in daily plant operations. Quality Systems & Compliance • Ensure plants maintain compliance with ISO 9001:2015 or IATF 16949 (if necessary), with strong emphasis on practical application at the operational level. • Act as the site's Quality Management Representative (QMR), with responsibility for reporting on QMS performance to site leadership, promoting customer focus throughout the organization, and ensuring the effectiveness and continual improvement of the Quality Management System. • Coordinate and lead internal and external audits, ensuring findings translate into actionable improvements on the plant floor. • Drive the transition toward a standardized global QMS, ensuring consistency in execution, documentation, and controls across sites. • Lead the Quality Network to share plant-level best practices and standardize successful approaches across facilities. A Day in the Life Continued HSE & Safe Operations Integration • Lead HSE initiatives with a focus on safe execution of manufacturing processes and risk elimination at the source. • Ensure HSE controls are fully integrated into daily plant operations, including procedures, training, and accountability systems. • Develop and track site-level HSE performance metrics, ensuring alignment with operational and quality objectives. • Champion a proactive approach to incident prevention, near-miss reporting, and corrective actions, ensuring lessons learned are embedded into plant processes. • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and corporate HSE requirements through disciplined execution and monitoring. Culture & Capability Building • Build and sustain a plant culture where quality and safety are core operational priorities, owned by all employees. • Develop and coach plant teams on quality tools, process control methods, and problem-solving techniques. • Reinforce accountability at all levels for meeting quality and HSE expectations in daily operations. • Perform other duties as assigned.
