The Opportunity

The HSE Manager is accountable for overseeing day-to-day safety activities within assigned operations or project sites. In this role, you will implement and maintain safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and serve as the primary point of contact for safety-related issues. You will supervise site-based safety staff, coordinate training and risk assessments, and drive a culture of continuous improvement. The HSE Manager collaborates with operations, engineering, and leadership teams to identify hazards, develop controls, and measure safety performance.

What you will do?
  • Lead the creation, review, and implementation of safety plans, procedures, and technical deliverables.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and mentorship to junior safety professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulatory standards.
  • Participate in and lead high-level safety reviews, including those related to operational risk and complex processes.
  • Plan and deliver targeted training on safety practices, regulatory updates, and hazard mitigation.
  • Conduct and document site inspections, hazard assessments, and root cause analyses for incidents.
  • Identify trends and recommend improvements to reduce risks and enhance safety performance.
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineering, operations, and leadership to integrate safety into all phases of work.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies in safety management.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field (required).
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction or General Industry • Required
  • First Aid/CPR Certification • required
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive safety experience, including field-based safety roles.
  • Experience leading other safety professionals.
  • Experience in high-risk industries such as construction, energy, or manufacturing is highly desirable.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in US
  • Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel between project sites as needed.
  • Knowledge and application of OSHA standards (29 CFR 1910/1926), NFPA, ANSI, ISO 45001 and other relevant regulations/conformance standards.
  • Ability to maintain site safety records and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and company requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a relevant discipline (preferred).
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) • Preferred
  • Construction Health & Safety Technician (CHST)• Preferred
  • Occupational Health & Safety Technician (OHST)• Preferred - For manufacturing & service roles only
  • Additional certifications such as CIH, or ASP • preferred
