Full Job Description
We currently have an opening for a Safety Manager to join our team in Cleveland, OH. In this critical role, you will be responsible for promoting a safe and healthy work environment. You will ensure compliance with all applicable safety regulations and company policies, and proactively identify and mitigate potential hazards. This role requires a proactive approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of the facility, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety programs aligned with industry best practices and OSHA standards.
  • Investigate safety incidents, develop corrective action plans, and track trends to prevent future occurrences.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees on a variety of topics, including personal protective equipment (PPE) use, emergency procedures, and hazard communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety documentation, including accident reports, safety data sheets (SDS), and training records.
  • Foster a positive safety culture by promoting safe work practices and encouraging employee participation in safety initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as production, engineering, and maintenance, to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of operations.
  • Respond to emergencies and accidents, ensuring the safety of employees and the facility.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Some overnight shifts will be required to ensure comprehensive safety coverage.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in occupational safety and health (OSH), Safety Science, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety management role.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or OSHA 500 certification (preferred).
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations and relevant safety standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer skills, proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Work Schedule:
  • Full-time (40 hours per week) with some required overnight shifts.
