Job Description

As a Process Safety Engineer here at Honeywell, you will be responsible for overseeing and directing the organization's Process Safety engineering efforts. You will ensure the highest standards of health and safety for employees, compliance with safety and environmental regulations and industry standards, and the implementation of best practices.

In this role, you will impact the safety culture and environmental performance of Honeywell by identifying hazards, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices.

Your ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders will ensure that HSE considerations are integrated into business processes and decision-making, contributing to the overall success and reputation of our business as a responsible and sustainable organization.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies that align with the organization's mission, ensuring a culture of safety, health, and environmental responsibility
  • Ensure that the organization complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations, permits, and certifications
  • Lead / participate in hazard reviews and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews of manufacturing activities
  • Conduct risk assessments and safety audits to identify and mitigate potential hazards, providing engineering solutions and preventive measures
  • Lead / participate in investigations of process-related incidents
  • Conduct training on process safety related topics; develop / update training materials as needed
  • Generate periodic reports on the status of various process safety-related activities; follow-up with management to help assure timely completion of activities
  • Work with Pilot Plant Engineering Design and Construction group to help develop engineering design standards related to process safety system

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

Qualifications

YOU MUST HAVE
  • 2-5 years of experience in process engineering, project engineering or operations in chemical or petrochemical processing, refining, or R&D

  • Proficiency in HSE Management Systems
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and strategic planning abilities

COMPENSATION

The annual base salary range for this position is <$95,000 - 143,000> for Des Plains, IL. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
