Headcount and sites are scaling faster than institutional knowledge can keep up. The gap between a control written on paper and one actually applied in the field is where fatalities happen.
- Keep a 24/7 workforce running at full intensity, not sidelined by injury. Fatigue, shift work, and high-energy exposure compound on the people running the sites and show up as injuries or claims if no one is tracking them. The work is to catch them first.
- Keep environmental compliance ahead of the fastest build in the industry. Behind-the-meter generation spans multiple states, each with its own air permit conditions, runtime limits, and reporting deadlines, and the company adds sites faster than any manual compliance model can keep up with.
Role Scope- Own HSE across a leased campus another operator controls, where buildings in construction, commissioning, and live operation sit side by side.
- Review design and commissioning packages for the hazards they build in, and push engineering controls into the drawings before a crew has to work around them.
- Run hazardous energy control across the site's electrical distribution: switching plans, LOTO, and zero-energy verification as gear lands, tests, and energizes.
- Own workers compensation and case management at the site, from first report of injury through the carrier and TPA handoff, treatment, and fitness for duty, with transitional duty defined ahead of time so shift-based field crews come back on modified duty in days.
- Keep injury, illness, and environmental recordkeeping current so the OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 logs, the New York state filings, the stormwater and air permit records, and the claims and near-miss trend view all hold up on inspection and in front of leadership.
What We're Looking ForThe below is a starting point. We always make space for exceptional people, so if you don't fit this role exactly, tell us where you would.- You've run site safety on a data center or heavy industrial build where construction crews, commissioning, and energized systems shared one campus.
- You hold OSHA 30 Construction and current First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- You've reviewed design and commissioning packages and gotten an engineering control into the drawings instead of a procedure telling a crew to be careful.
- You've taken workers compensation claims from first report through closure, and you've worked adjusters, occupational physicians, and clinics hard enough to change how a claim went.
- You've built or run a return-to-work and transitional duty program that field supervisors actually used, and the return-to-work numbers moved because of it.
- You've owned OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 recordkeeping through an inspection or an audit where the logs held up.
- Bonus: Construction safety credentials (CHST, CSP, ASP). Professional engineering licensure (PE). Case and disability management credentials (CCM, CPDM, occupational health RN). New York construction and labor compliance (Industrial Code Rule 23, Labor Law 240 and 241). Claims and injury analytics tooling (Origami, Riskonnect, Intelex).
