HSE Administrator - Pipeline Construction

Play an integral role in supporting a major pipeline construction project in Alaska while helping to foster a culture built on safety, environmental stewardship, operational excellence, and collaboration. This position supports project leadership and field execution teams by ensuring health, safety, and environmental processes, documentation, and compliance activities are administered efficiently and effectively across the project lifecycle.

You will work closely with construction, field operations, project controls, subcontractors, and HSE leadership to help maintain compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and client expectations in a dynamic field environment. Purpose of the role

You will be responsible for supporting the administration and coordination of environmental, health, and safety programs for a pipeline construction project in Alaska. The role supports the implementation of HSE procedures, reporting requirements, compliance activities, and field documentation processes to help ensure the project operates safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company policies and regulatory standards.

This role plays a key part in maintaining organized HSE systems, supporting field teams, assisting with audits and inspections, and ensuring accurate reporting and communication across project stakeholders. You will also help promote a proactive safety culture by supporting continuous improvement initiatives and reinforcing best practices throughout the project.

Core Responsibilities
  • Support the administration and coordination of project-specific environmental, health, and safety programs, procedures, and initiatives
  • Maintain and update HSE documentation, records, logs, reports, training records, incident reports, and compliance tracking systems
  • Assist with the preparation, maintenance, and distribution of environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures, manuals, and project communications
  • Coordinate and support HSE onboarding activities for employees, contractors, and visitors assigned to the project
  • Monitor compliance with company standards, client requirements, and applicable local, state, and federal environmental and safety regulations
  • Support HSE inspections, audits, observations, and field verification activities to help identify risks and corrective actions
  • Assist with incident reporting processes, documentation gathering, corrective action tracking, and follow-up activities
  • Support project leadership and HSE personnel with data entry, reporting metrics, presentations, and administrative coordination activities
  • Maintain confidentiality and accuracy of sensitive project and personnel information
  • Coordinate meetings, training sessions, safety communications, and project HSE events as required
  • Assist in tracking permits, certifications, training compliance, and other regulatory or project-specific requirements
  • Provide administrative and systems support related to HSE software, tools, and reporting platforms
  • Collaborate with construction teams, subcontractors, and cross-functional stakeholders to support safe and compliant project execution
  • Assist with continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, workflows, and reporting efficiency
  • Support remote and field-based operations in a fast-paced pipeline construction environment that may include rotational schedules and remote site coordination

Key qualifications and experience include:
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent required
  • Typically 7+ years of relevant HSE administrative or project support experience, preferably within pipeline, oil & gas, energy, industrial construction, or EPC project environments
  • Experience supporting field construction or remote project operations is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of environmental, health, and safety documentation, reporting, and compliance processes
  • Familiarity with OSHA, environmental compliance requirements, construction safety standards, and industry best practices
  • Advanced administrative coordination and organizational skills with the ability to manage complex and varied assignments independently
  • Strong working knowledge of HSE management systems, reporting tools, databases, and Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to prepare reports, presentations, logs, and tracking documentation with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to professionally communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines, and adapt within a fast-paced construction environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision while exercising sound judgment and independent decision-making
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, contractors, and client representatives
  • Experience assisting with audits, inspections, incident tracking, and corrective action follow-up activities is preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot systems, processes, and reporting issues
  • Commitment to promoting a positive safety culture and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
  • Previous experience supporting pipeline construction projects, remote Alaska operations, or large-scale infrastructure projects is considered an asset
