Full Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, HS&E, the HS&E Advisor is responsible for applying professional Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) practices at a project/worksite. The HS&E Advisor leverages knowledge of the HS&E management system, HS&E Plan, and jurisdictional requirements to apply them in a work setting with a moderate level of guidance.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Supports the development of hazard assessments to identify and control unsafe conditions and behaviors associated to safe execution of work processes.
  • Participates in the inspections and focus audits on HS&E plan requirements, reports findings and verifies implementation of corrective actions.
  • Supports preparation for and participates in internal and external audits.
  • Collects data associated with incidents, inspections, and audits to track performance and assist in identifying areas for improvement.
  • Generates reports to communicate results, findings, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
  • With guidance from manager assist with providing advice to operations management and subcontractors concerning the company's HS&E management system, utilizing a thorough understanding of HS&E plan and process requirements throughout the project/ contract lifecycle.
  • Supports all required aspects of Subcontractor management program implementation.
  • Creates incident notifications and participates in incident investigations to assist with identifying root causes and determine corrective actions for continual improvement.
  • Coordinates review of incidents findings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Supports supervisors with fulfilling occupational injury and illness management requirements and monitoring of the return-to-work process.


Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant HS&E, trade, or industry experience
  • High school diploma required, or degree in OH&S, or completion of NCSO or CSO preferred
  • Actively Pursuing CRSP, CSP or other HS&E professional designation preferred
  • Thorough understanding of OHS programs, policies, and requirements.
  • Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office, and an aptitude for learning various computer software systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail with accurate proofreading and editing skills.
  • Ability to explain information and persuade others in straightforward situations.
  • Ability to solve standard problems through analysis, evaluation, and applying standard procedures.


Working Conditions:
  • This is a site based position
  • Physical efforts such as walking required


Compensation

$80,100.00 - $106,800.00

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
