Full Job Description
HR Operations Generalist serves as a trusted resource for employees, managers, and HR colleagues while providing advanced HR operational support across the employee lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Manager of HR Technology, Training, and Support, you’ll partner with Shared Services, HR Business Partners, Benefits, Payroll, and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to deliver accurate, timely, and employee-focused HR services. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional who enjoys being a problem-solver, educator, and go-to resource for both people and technology.

Be a Trusted HR Resource

  • Serve as Tier 3 support for HR Shared Services, managing escalated cases and inquiries and partnering with the appropriate HRBP or Center of Excellence to ensure timely resolution.
  • Provide guidance on HR policies, procedures, and processes, helping communicate and implement new or updated policies.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners, Payroll, Benefits, and other HR teams to resolve complex employee questions and improve processes.
  • Handle sensitive employee information with a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity.

Support the Employee Lifecycle

  • Process and audit HR transactions related to hiring, onboarding, transfers, compensation, scheduled hours, and other employee changes.
  • Review HR data and required approvals for accuracy and ensure transactions are entered into the HRMS within established timelines.
  • Understand the payroll implications of HR transactions and collaborate with Payroll to identify and resolve paycheck-related issues.
  • Provide onsite support for new-hire visits, Form I-9 completion, and HR front-desk coverage as needed.

Bring HR Technology to Life

  • Provide first-tier Workday support for employees, managers, and HR teams across areas including Onboarding, Staffing, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent, and Time/Absence.
  • Serve as a system administrator for Shared Services technology, including ServiceNow and OnBase.
  • Support department ServiceNow coverage and participate in HR technology and process improvement projects.
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistent, efficient HR operations.

Support Benefits & Employee Education

  • Assist employees and managers with questions regarding health, dental, vision, disability, life insurance, pension, savings, and reimbursement plans.
  • Process benefit enrollments and changes accurately and efficiently.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with benefit vendors and internal HR partners.
  • Help train and educate HR Operations Specialists and serve as a go-to resource for the HR Support Specialist.

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Associates degree, required
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of HR Generalist or HR experience with emphasis on HCM/Benefits, required
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate HRIS and HR technology systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and HR systems such as HRIS, Kronos, and Workday.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.

  • Full-time
  • 8:00am-4:30pm

LOCATION:

  • 280 Chestnut St.
  • Springfield, MA
  • Hybrid Opportunity- minimum of 3 days a week on-site, required
  • Candidate must live in MA or CT

Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries may vary by position and will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range. Pay ranges are listed as hourly for non-exempt employees and based on assumed full time commitment for exempt employees.
