SUMMARY

The anticipated salary range for this position is $130,000 - 160,000 annually. The actual compensation offered may vary based on job related factors such as experience, skills, education and location.

Owens & Minor is seeking a highly technical and hands-on Workday HRIS Manager to serve as the functional and configuration lead for our Workday environment. This role requires deep system expertise across Core HCM, Advanced Compensation, Talent & Performance, and Recruiting, with strong capabilities in business process framework (BPF), security architecture, reporting, and integrations.

The ideal candidate will operate as a system architect and configuration lead, driving scalable design, data governance, and release management. This position will play a key role driving and enhancing the HR Technology Solutions at Owens & Minor.

Key Responsibilities

Workday System Ownership & Configuration
  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for Workday.
  • Lead configuration, maintenance, and enhancements across:
    • Workday Core HCM
    • Advanced Compensation
    • Talent & Performance
    • Recruiting
  • Configure business processes, security roles, calculated fields, reports, dashboards, and integrations.
  • Manage Workday releases, assess impact, and implement new features.

Compensation (Core & Advanced)
  • Configure and support annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, equity).
  • Design and maintain compensation plans, eligibility rules, and guidelines.
  • Partner with Total Rewards to ensure system alignment with compensation strategy.

Talent & Performance
  • Configure performance review cycles, goal management, and talent assessments.
  • Support succession planning and talent calibration processes.
  • Ensure reporting accuracy for leadership talent insights.

Recruiting
  • Manage end-to-end Workday Recruiting configuration.
  • Optimize job requisitions, candidate workflows, interview stages, and offer processes.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to improve candidate and recruiter experience.

Reporting & Analytics
  • Develop and maintain custom reports, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Ensure data integrity and governance.
  • Support HR and leadership with workforce metrics and insights.

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as liaison between HR, IT, Finance, and external vendors.
  • Translate business requirements into system solutions.
  • Lead user training and provide tier 2/3 system support.

Team Leadership
  • Manage and mentor HRIS team members (if applicable).
  • Establish HRIS best practices, documentation, and governance standards.
  • Drive system roadmap and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of HRIS experience with 7+ years of deep Workday configuration.
  • Proven hands-on experience in:
    • Core HCM architecture
    • Advanced Compensation configuration
    • Talent & Performance configuration
    • Recruiting configuration
  • Advanced expertise in:
    • Business Process Framework
    • Security administration
    • Calculated fields
    • Advanced reporting
  • Experience supporting Workday integrations (EIB/API).
  • Strong understanding of HR data structures and compliance requirements.

  • Experience in global/multi-country environments.
  • Prior experience leading a Workday implementation or optimization project.
