Primary Duties and Responsibilities
The Application Analyst II is responsible for configuring, testing, implementing, and supporting the clinical, financial, or administrative, and/or other healthcare information systems used for the delivery of patient care and/or other supporting functions of the organization.

Oversees practices and processes to ensure integrity, safety, and availability of all data and applications, supporting the goals and objectives of the customer as well as the business needs of Hoag.

Evaluate problem tickets and service requests, customer requests for system changes, data retrieval requests, system performance problems and optimization opportunities, and participate in the timely resolution of these activities. Responsible for the build and maintenance of various system dictionaries, profiles, tables and other configuration points. Identifies system enhancement requests and works with the team to implement as applicable. Coordinates with the vendor as appropriate.

Tests the system, including any configurations, customizations and new releases, prior to production implementation. Works with end-users to assist with the design and testing of system reports and communicate changes to end users and other staff as applicable. Participates as a team member in various projects. Prepares for and participates in system design, validation and/or remediation sessions

Performs all the functions above with supervision as needed. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and ExperienceRequired:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years' experience with the application, module or equivalent system of assigned functional area.
  • Advanced knowledge of the assigned applications in at least one functional area.
  • Proficient with Microsoft office tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Project.
Preferred:
  • Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Three (3) or more years' experience with application, module or equivalent system as assigned, including experience working in a health care environment department, preferably in an integrated health system environment.
  • Experience with report building tools.
  • Payroll Department only
  • Previous experience with payroll or staffing applications; preferably Krosnos
License Required:
Current CA driver's license for local travel
License Preferred:
N/A
Certifications Required
IT Department EPIC only
  • Epic training and certification in the assigned application area is required. Certification includes completing application certification projects and tests.
  • At least one secondary certification and/or badge relevant to supported module.
Certifications Preferred
IT Department EPIC only
  • Other certification with the application(s) within their area of responsibility and support

Lab Department only
  • Clinical Laboratory Scientist
