Full Job Description
The HRIS Analyst II reports directly to the HRIS Senior Manager and is important for optimizing and supporting Workday Benefits, Core HCM, HR reporting, and related areas. Primary responsibilities include system configuration, issue troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, production support, and creating mid-level reports. Working with senior HRIS analysts, the HR operations team, and partners, you will guide enhancements to provide HR technology solutions. This is a hybrid role based in our New York City headquarters. You can typically expect to come into the office 2+ days/week. Responsibilities: • Be subject matter expert for the Workday Benefits module, with expertise extending to core HCM, Payroll, and/or Absence and Time Tracking. • Lead the system configuration for Benefits Annual Enrollment. • Be the primary contact for benefits-related vendor integrations and resolution of technical issues. • Deliver technical and user support for Workday, handling questions, troubleshooting, and resolving issues across supported modules. • Execute assigned production support tickets and project tasks with high accuracy and within target deadlines. • Maintain HCM production support processes, encompassing monitoring, detailed analysis, and issue resolution. • Define, refine, and maintain business process configurations. • Configure, schedule, and oversee automated mass actions and system alert notifications. • Participate in Workday's biannual feature update cycles. • Collaborate with the Workday Security team to configure and maintain domain and business process security policies. • Design and deploy Workday solutions tailored to meet functional requirements and improve operational efficiency. • Test, and implement new feature enhancements, analyzing impacts across HCM, Benefits, Payroll, reporting, and integrations. • Audit and validate system data and reports to preserve data integrity and maintain internal control standards. • Review end-user data entry practices to identify process gaps and strengthen data governance controls. • Provide HRIS system maintenance, solution implementations, and module troubleshooting. • Partner with senior HRIS analysts to achieve shared goals, exchange technical knowledge, and foster skill growth. • Engage with HR partners to lead new module functionality, enhancements, and broader HCM programs. • Communicate technical insights, analytical findings to non-technical partners. • Demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world. • You will report to the HRIS Senior Manager. Basic Qualifications: • Minimum 2 years of experience in an HRIS Analyst role or comparable HR systems position. • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience using Workday. • Professional experience in HR, Payroll, and Benefits operations. • Experience with Workday report writing and generation. • Background in maintaining Workday business processes, security protocols, system releases, notifications, and automated mass operations. • Advanced proficiency in Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, macros, modeling. • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, collaboration. • Experience conveying complex technical concepts and data findings into clear, accessible recommendations for non-technical partners. Preferred Qualifications: • Hands-on experience managing Workday benefits, Workday Time Tracking and Absence modules. • Familiarity with additional Workday modules and teams, such as Security, Integrations, and Prism Analytics. • Experience with benefits management and Annual Enrollment. #LI-Hybrid REQ-020611 Additional Compensation and Benefits: For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock.
