Job Description

Location/Division Specific Information:

HR Manager within the Regional HR Team supporting the Frederick, Maryland location within our Clinical Next-Generation Sequencing Division. This position is on-site.

DESCRIPTION:
As an HR partner at Thermo Fisher Scientific, you'll support strategic initiatives that enable our mission of making the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Working in a collaborative, global environment, you'll provide comprehensive HR leadership that helps shape our culture built on our 4i values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement. You'll work closely with business leaders to develop and implement HR strategies that attract, develop, engage and retain talent while driving organizational effectiveness. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter who has strong and well-rounded HR background to progress their career as an HR Manager. As a trusted advisor to the site, business and functional leaders, this role will guide and take action in all aspects of HR including: Performance Management, Employee Relations, Compensation, Engagement and Retention.

KEY RESPONSIBILITES:
  • Provides high level HR expertise, support and coaching to managers on HR policies and processes, people management, and career development
  • Builds credibility and develops trusted relationships
  • Drive strategy alignment at the local level with broader division and group deliverables
  • Coaches managers on issues including application of HR policies and processes, restructuring, investigations, and other employee issues.
  • Works with the talent acquisition team to drive recruitment efforts in alignment with strategy
  • Conduct compensation analysis in partnership with subject matter authorities to resolve local compensation needs and actions.
  • Support the HR platforms (i.e. talent acquisition, compensation, etc.) with large scale initiatives and annual processes and partnering with appropriate HRBPs
  • Participate in the broader regional HR team to drive HR projects and initiatives.
  • Drive manager and employee Self-Service adoption on HR processes and highly repeatable functional tasks
  • Partner with Frederick HR peer on site-based HR initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION:

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

Generally, at least 5 years of HR work experience or equivalent work experience required

KNOWLEDGE:
• Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR policies, and best practices
• Experience in performance management, employee relations, compensation, and organizational development
• Excellent consulting, coaching and collaboration skills to work effectively with leaders at all levels
• Strong analytical and data-driven decision making capabilities
• Project management skills and ability to coordinate complex HR initiatives
• Strong communication and presentation abilities
• Experience supporting organizational change and transformation initiatives
• Business acumen and strategic mindset
• Proficiency with HRIS systems and HR analytics tools
• Fluent English required; additional language skills valued
• Problem-solving skills with ability to navigate complex situations
• Experience building professional relationships across all organizational levels
• Experience in manufacturing/scientific industry preferred
• Comfortable with ambiguity
• Strong ability to manage multiple stakeholders simultaneously
• Ability to collaborate and leverage network

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $103,100.00-$154,700.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
