Job Summary:
The Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic HR leader for the Intercollegiate Athletics Department, partnering closely with sports programs and departmental leadership to manage high-profile and complex recruitment efforts from position development through onboarding. This position leads and executes several key HR functions and is responsible for managing the full recruitment and hiring process, partnering with managers to attract, assess, and hire top talent while ensuring an efficient and positive candidate experience.

The position is also responsible for developing and implementing HR processes, establishing sustainable operating procedures, and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across the department. The role designs, implements, and monitors onboarding, performance management, and individual development planning programs, while supervising one HR Business Partner and providing guidance on workforce planning and HR compliance. In partnership with department leadership, the position helps develop and execute workforce strategies to meet staffing needs and support organizational goals.

Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Directs and manages unit operational functions and/or staff
  • Serves as subject matter expert to support unit managers' alignment of business needs and human resources strategy
  • Identifies, designs, implements, and monitors Human Resources and staff training programs consistent with strategic objectives and initiatives
  • Monitors programs and practices to ensure compliance with human resources laws, regulations, and institutional policies
  • Identifies, proposes, implements, and interprets employment policies and practices for stakeholders, and provides recommendations for changes

Compensation:
The starting salary for this position is $85,000 annually and is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of four years of professional Human Resources experience
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively, follow through on tasks and work with limited oversight
  • Experience in recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes
  • Experience in developing, documenting, implementing, and improving HR-related processes
  • The successful applicant must be able to develop and implement innovative approaches and solutions
  • Demonstrated customer service skills and the ability to work independently and in a team setting to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Experience developing reports and analytics using various systems and software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience supervising full-time, part-time, student, or temporary employees in a professional setting.
  • HR Generalist experience related to employment policies and applicable employment laws
  • Experience with Workday


Education:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
