Position Summary

The HR Manager II is a strategic partner to leadership, responsible for supporting and advancing HR initiatives that align with business objectives. This role provides leadership across core HR functions, supports workforce and talent strategies, advises managers, and contributes to organizational growth and effectiveness.

Supervisor Responsibilities

This position may have supervisory responsibilities over other employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Evaluate HR processes and procedures across corporate and mine locations and identify opportunities to streamline and improve service delivery across the organization.
  • Support core HR functions by developing and executing strategies related to performance management, workforce planning, talent acquisition, training, and employee development.
  • Provide leadership and hands-on support for recruiting efforts, including workforce planning, candidate sourcing strategies, selection processes, and partnership with hiring managers to attract and retain top talent.
  • Research and analyze HR data and prepare regular reports on trends, program performance, and recommendations for new initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • Partner in the development of HR strategic plans and help drive execution of key projects and initiatives to support business priorities.
  • Lead and support employee relations activities, including:
    • Addressing employee relations matters, including employee complaints, harassment allegations, and civil rights concerns, in a timely and professional manner.
    • Supporting onboarding, offboarding, and corrective action processes in alignment with company policy and applicable employment practices.
  • Contribute to the strategic direction of the HR function through the development and implementation of policies, programs, projects, and companywide initiatives.
  • Coach and advise managers on employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and leadership practices to strengthen manager effectiveness and support positive employee outcomes.
  • Review reports, decisions, and outcomes related to HR and department initiatives against established goals, and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and service quality.
  • Assess the effectiveness of HR projects and initiatives, ensure objectives are achieved, and identify next steps to support long-term improvement and sustainability.
  • Partner with senior leaders to support business development and growth initiatives by providing HR insights related to workforce planning, organizational readiness, talent strategy, and change management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Typical Physical Demands

This position primarily involves working in a professional office environment and requires the ability to perform standard office activities such as sitting for extended periods, using a computer and other office equipment, and communicating verbally and in writing. Some travel is required.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of related work experience.
  • Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities.
