Job Description:

We’re looking for an HR Generalist to join our Electric Power global operations human resources team and support our EPD facility in Griffin, GA. This role will report to the Human Resources Manager and support the management & production team within the Electric Power Division.

What You Will Do:

  • Making recommendations to management on issues concerning employees,
  • recruiting, turnover or training.
  • Assist with new employee onboarding
  • Assist and consult with employee inquiries (ex. time & attendance, payroll issues,
  • Workday access, etc.)
  • Participate in HR projects related to facility success
  • Handling employee relations issues, outplacement counseling, and exit
  • interviewing.
  • Assist with Employee Insights action planning
  • Conducting organizational effectiveness assessments and recommending
  • programs to address issues.

  • Ability to applying an assigned technique for critical thinking in a decision-making process. Identifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideas.
  • Ability to document data, generate ideas, identify key players, stakeholders, and processes.
  • Ability to recognize, clarify, and prioritize concerns.
  • Assists with assessing risks, benefits and consideration of alternatives.

Effective Communication:

  • Ability to deliver helpful feedback that focuses on behaviors without offending the recipient.
  • Listens to feedback without defensiveness and uses it for own communication effectiveness.
  • Ability to develop presentations and report out data effectively and professionally
  • Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization
  • Ability to exhibit emotional intelligence with interacting with individuals and teams ex. looking out for non-verbal cues

Interpersonal Relationships:

  • Ability to influence key individuals inside and outside own group and earns
  • their buy-in
  • Knowledge of techniques to resolve potentially harmful differences between
  • individuals and groups of people.
  • Ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships within an outside of own area.
  • Ability to establish and maintain credibility with clients and teammates.

Data Gathering and Reporting :

  • Knowledge of tools, techniques and processes for gathering and reporting data.
  • Ability to detect and summarize patterns in data and findings by producing simple reports.
  • Ability to customize data fields to meet clients' needs.
  • Knowledge of how to interpret and explain results of a data-gathering initiative.

Employee Relations:

  • Knowledge of the rights and obligations in employee relations.
  • Ability to assist employees with personal or professional problems.
  • Conducts employee satisfaction surveys and documents interviewees' concerns and issues.
  • Ability to understand and communicate organizational policies, procedures
  • and processes for dealing with employee relations issues.
  • Ability resolve routine problems or disciplinary issues related to employee relations, such as grievances.

HR: Policies, Standards and Procedures:

  • Ability to analyze policy and standards documentation and ensures organizational compliance.
  • Experience maintaining a specific set of standards and associated HR procedures.
  • Knowledge of when to communicate and escalate potential exceptions upward for review and approval.
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of specific procedures.

What Will Put You Ahead:

  • Knowledge of Organization: Knowledge of the organization's vision, structure, culture, philosophy, operating principles, values, and code of ethics; ability to understand the value of aligning capabilities with business goals to support optimal performance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related discipline.


 

Summary Pay Range:

$89,210.00 - $133,810.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
