Full Job Description
The Director, Employee Relations (ER) will lead the company's US based employee relations team as well as set the standards for how Employee Relations concerns are handled across the globe within market teams. Through this work, the Director of ER will be responsible for fostering a positive, equitable, and compliant workplace environment across LS&Co. This role will focus on ensuring fair treatment of employees, promoting trust, standardizing ways of operating and resolving conflicts while aligning with the company's objectives and values. This person will report into the VP, HRBP Corporate Functions and play a key role in shaping workplace culture, managing sensitive issues, and advising on policies that support both employee engagement and company goals.

About the Job
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, HR and management on employee relations matters, providing coaching, conflict mediation and guidance on corrective actions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive employee relations strategy that supports the Company's objectives and ensures alignment with legal standards and best practices.
  • Create, review and implement policies and procedures ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, regulations and internal standards.
  • Design and deliver training programs for managers and employees on employee relations topics such as conflict resolution, performance management and appropriate workplace conduct.
  • Work closely with other HR functional teams to integrate employee relations strategies with broader HR initiatives, creating a global community of practice.
  • Manage one direct report and a team reporting into that Manager.
  • Oversee the process for resolving employee grievances, workplace conflicts and complaints, including leading or advising on complex investigations of alleged misconduct, harassment or policy violations. Collaborate with global partners to ensure consistent application of framework for resolutions across all geographies.
  • Monitor key employee relations metrics and utilize data analytics to proactively address trends, identify risk and drive continuous improvement.
  • Work to foster a culture of trust, respect and accountability by promoting open communication channels, listening to employee concerns and enhancing employee engagement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with legal counsel to mitigate potential legal risks by handling employee relations cases and participating in legal proceedings when necessary.


About You
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in employee relations, human resources, or employment law preferably within retail and corporate environments.
  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or a related field; master's degree or HR certification (e.g. SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred or any combination of education and experience to meet the requirements above.
  • Proven track record of managing complex employee relations issues in a large, multi-state or global organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations (EEO, FMLA, ADA, etc).
  • Demonstrated proficiency in conflict resolution, mediation and negotiation.


This role is a fully remote US-based position.The expected starting salary range for this role is $148,600 - $245,400 per year We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range based on the location of the role. The amount a particular employee will earn within the salary range will be based on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, performance and business needs.
